Książka była fajna， ale jednak zabrakło mi w niej logiki， czasem były też zbędne dialogi， jakby chcące przedłużyć historię。 Sama intryga dość marna， wiadomo było poniekąd， że są tylko dwa wyjścia。 Poczucie humoru też trochę słabe。Na plus oczywiście rozwijanie się relacji między naszą główną parą oraz wyobraźnia Clare， szczególnie ta w opisywaniu różnych demonów i miejsc。 Nie da się zaprzeczyć， ma kobieta wyobraźnię！Fanom serii polecam， ale ostrzegam， że to nie jest jakaś bardzo dobra książka - m Książka była fajna， ale jednak zabrakło mi w niej logiki， czasem były też zbędne dialogi， jakby chcące przedłużyć historię。 Sama intryga dość marna， wiadomo było poniekąd， że są tylko dwa wyjścia。 Poczucie humoru też trochę słabe。Na plus oczywiście rozwijanie się relacji między naszą główną parą oraz wyobraźnia Clare， szczególnie ta w opisywaniu różnych demonów i miejsc。 Nie da się zaprzeczyć， ma kobieta wyobraźnię！Fanom serii polecam， ale ostrzegam， że to nie jest jakaś bardzo dobra książka - mam wrażenie， że pierwszy tom był lepiej dopracowany。 Dla relaksu， aby się odprężyć - jak najbardziej polecam 。。。more

I was disappointed by this book。 I really liked the red scrolls of magic and seeing Alec and Magnus grow in their relationship but this book was something else entirely。 Not bad but not what I wanted or expected。

-3〜3。5 stars？？-Not nearly as good as I had hoped， so it was kind of disappointing 😒😕-I wasn’t too fond of the kid angle 🤷🏻‍♀️ （idk it just felt too sudden， even if it was 3 years later）-Despite me not enjoying this nearly as much as I hoped， I still will likely read the next book whenever it deigns to come out-Also， it’s possible I may have given this a slightly higher rating if I hadn’t just read the entire mortal instruments series and the first book of this series in such a relatively short t -3〜3。5 stars？？-Not nearly as good as I had hoped， so it was kind of disappointing 😒😕-I wasn’t too fond of the kid angle 🤷🏻‍♀️ （idk it just felt too sudden， even if it was 3 years later）-Despite me not enjoying this nearly as much as I hoped， I still will likely read the next book whenever it deigns to come out-Also， it’s possible I may have given this a slightly higher rating if I hadn’t just read the entire mortal instruments series and the first book of this series in such a relatively short timeframe。。。 I just am kind of sick of this world 😵‍💫 （and YA in general atm） 。。。more

entrega de esta trilogía supusiera una mejoría。 De alguna forma lo fue， pero tampoco puedo afirmar que me haya encantado y que haya sido lo que esperaba。 Clare y Chu esta vez nos sitúan en el 2010， una época inexplorada hasta ahora en el mundo de las sombras para el regreso de Shinyun a sus vidas， esta ve “Those so-called sentimental attachments—they are where strength comes from。 Where real power comes from。”Después de la decepción que The Red Scrolls of Magic fue para mí， esperé que la segunda entrega de esta trilogía supusiera una mejoría。 De alguna forma lo fue， pero tampoco puedo afirmar que me haya encantado y que haya sido lo que esperaba。 Clare y Chu esta vez nos sitúan en el 2010， una época inexplorada hasta ahora en el mundo de las sombras para el regreso de Shinyun a sus vidas， esta vez acompañada del presuntamente muerto， Ragnor Fell。 Este dúo irrumpe en el apartamento de Magnus y Alec para robar el Libro Blanco y se da a la fuga。 Para atraparlos， Magnus y Alec piden ayuda a sus amigos Clary， Jace， Simon e Izzy e inician un viaje hacia Shanghái para combatir a los brujos y recuperar el libro。¿Qué me gustó de este libro？ Hubo muy poco contenido Malec para mi gusto， pero lo que hubo fue buenísimo， y me encantó。 Me pareció súper tierno y disfruté de ver una faceta más madura y familiar de esta dupla， de verlos más confiados juntos y trabajando en equipo。 Ya no son solo Magnus y Alec en su loft de Brooklyn， ahora tienen un bebe: Max。 A lo largo de la saga no hay suficientes apariciones de Max， y es una pena porque es de lo más dulce y divertido que hay。 Me reí mucho con todas sus partes， sobre todo con Maryse haciéndole de niñera porque es un personaje que nunca me terminó ni de gustar ni de disgustar， pero acá le tomé cariño。 Por otro lado， disfruté de volver a encontrarme con toda la gang。 The Mortal Instruments siempre va a ser mi saga literaria favorita y volver a ver a sus protagonistas es un mimo al alma。 Sin embargo， Simon sí que se me hizo un poco molesto y repetitivo。 Hubo un par de momentos dedicados a Clace que me hicieron explotar el corazón y para mí eso suma muchísimo。 Y， por último， la locación durante la primera mitad del libro: Shanghái。 La cultura y descripción de la ciudad me interesa bastante y fue agradable de leer。Como en el libro anterior， hubo más POVs de Magnus que de Alec， y no me quejo porque Magnus Bane es de mis personajes favoritos。 Esto nos permitió ver ciertos flashbacks vinculados a Ragnor Fell y Catarina que me encantaron de principio a fin， porque es un trío amistoso que me vuelve loca y siempre me arranca carcajadas。 En cuanto a Ragnor， me dolía muchísimo lo que le estaba pasando， pero me resultó interesante y entendí mejor ciertos aspectos de otros libros。 Y el prólogo de este libro también me hizo entender un montón de otras historias， de otros personajes， y cambió mi perspectiva respecto a libros anteriores。 Me gustó muchísimo el inicio de este libro， como Cassandra y Wesley lo conectaron con City of Glass estuvo muy bien escrito y planificado。“You're my heart， Magnus Bane。 Stay unbroken， for me。”¿Qué no me gustó？ Un par de cosas que resultan muy importantes en el armado de un libro。 Al igual que con The Red Scrolls of Magic， la trama era muy básica。 No había casi nada para contar y por esto los autores se dedicaron a introducir mucho relleno。 Hubo más de una pelea que básicamente pasé de largo y no me cambió nada， y personajes que， a mi parecer， no terminaban de aportar nada a la historia。 Tian， por ejemplo， no solo que me molestaba， sino que era innecesario y extra。 Sin todo el plot relacionado con él， el libro hubiese sido más rápido y didáctico。 Continuamente sucedían cosas muy random， aleatorias， y fueras de contexto， como que los autores no terminaban de vincular bien todas sus ideas。 El infierno que visitan me pareció muy básico y malo， como una parodia de City of Heavenly Fire， y lo único que pude rescatar fue la aparición de Elyaas que me hizo reír muchísimo。Los villanos de este libro eran lo peor。 Por un lado， tenemos a Shinyun， que no la soporto y no puedo creer que tenga que enfrentarme a otro libro más con ella。 Me parecía muy molesta e incesante， caprichosa renegando siempre por lo mismo ¿Tan obsesionada y enojada ibas a estar con Magnus？ Lo que sucede con ella hacia el final del libro me pareció， además， mal escrito y fuera de lugar。 No sabía que eso era posible y， de hecho， no creo que lo sepa， sino que Cassandra y Wesley lo inventaron solo para este libro y no les salió bien。 Y después se encuentra Sammael， un Príncipe del Infierno， quien vendría a ser el villano principal y del que se dice múltiples veces lo peligroso y malvado que es。 Magnus llega a decir que es lo peor que hay y lo más peligroso。 Sammael me pareció ridículo。 Fue el peor villano que Cassandra Clare llegó a escribir。 Me daban risa sus comentarios irónicos， pero no podía ver la villanía y maldad en él， además de que no le encontraba el sentido。 Lo peor de todo fue el final。 Fue de los peores finales de mi vida。 Todo era desesperación y llanto y de repente… solución instantánea que ni siquiera fue una solución， sino que el villano ¿se aburrió？ Me pareció malísimo y fue una gran decepción。 Así y todo， el epilogo fue un disparador para una trama muy buena para el tercer libro。 Me encantó ese epilogo y sí que tiene potencial。 That’s the Cassandra Clare I know！“The world is an absurd place， and to take it too seriously would be to let it win。”Un bonus es la historia extra sobre Jem y Tessa al final。 Me gustó un montón y creo que levantó bastante mi opinión del libro。 Jessa es una pareja literaria que me fascina y tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón hace años， así que este relato lo disfruté y aprecié。 Ame cada personaje que apareció durante estas páginas， aunque solo se los haya mencionado ¿Acaso lloré con la mera mención de William Owen Herondale？ Por supuesto que sí。 Siendo la historia de un suceso tan importante para Jem y Tessa， hubiese preferido que el POV hubiera sido de ellos en vez de Magnus。 Pero entiendo que el libro es de él y Alec。 Al fin y al cabo， era Magnus quien manejaba todo。¿Me gustó The Lost Book of the White？ Sí。 Tengo sentimientos mixtos y creo que esta trilogía es de lo peor de todos los libros de los cazadores de sombras， pero sí que me gustó e incluso un poco más que su sucesor y este cuento extra me gustó muchísimo， por lo que le doy 3。5 estrellas。“We’re the lucky ones—the ones who were loved。” 。。。more

I enjoyed this one even more than the first book。 We got the whole gang having adventures in Shanghai and a demon realm again and I am thrilled。 This was exciting and fun。 I actually teared up and laughed so much。 It was so great。

This book， much like the first， is clumsily written， with terrible dialogue。 If I had to read “put in” in place of “said” one more time， I would’ve jumped out the window: “put in Clary” instead of “said Clary，” for example。 And Alec remains the most boring character in the entire Shadowhunters universe。 He has no personality， and as far as I know of him， he’s severely and cartoonishly in love with Magnus。 That’s it。 I feel like no effort is being put into these Magnus/Alec books。

Aunque a nivel premisa el primer libro （Los manuscritos rojos de la magia） resultaba más interesante， este libro me ha parecido mucho más entretenido por toda la acción que tiene desde el principio （algo que echaba en falta en el primero， pues la primera mitad recuerdo que se me hizo un poco lenta）， lo que ha hecho que lo disfrutase más en comparación con la primera parte。 Pero， aún así， tampoco ha conseguido convertirse en uno de mis libros favoritos de Cazadores de sombras。Por supuesto， al ser Aunque a nivel premisa el primer libro （Los manuscritos rojos de la magia） resultaba más interesante， este libro me ha parecido mucho más entretenido por toda la acción que tiene desde el principio （algo que echaba en falta en el primero， pues la primera mitad recuerdo que se me hizo un poco lenta）， lo que ha hecho que lo disfrutase más en comparación con la primera parte。 Pero， aún así， tampoco ha conseguido convertirse en uno de mis libros favoritos de Cazadores de sombras。Por supuesto， al ser una trilogía spin-off， carece de esa trama tan compleja e intrigante que tienen las demás series de la saga， y por eso mismo creo que no son comparables。Al ser parte de la misma saga literaria es inevitable comparar esta trilogía con el resto de libros de la serie， y puesto que la autora nos tiene acostumbrados a otro tipo de hilos， la trama de este se queda un poco corta y la historia un poco floja， pero he de decir que objetivamente no me ha parecido un libro malo ni mucho menos， simplemente más sencillo y con menos complejidad。 Además， diría que es mucho más ligero （ya sabemos lo detallista que suele ser Cassandra Clare） y no cuesta tanto digerirlo en comparación con el resto de libros。 Sin embargo， me faltó ese "enganche"， no sé。Obviamente esta trilogía no pretende estar al nivel de las demás de Cazadores de sombras， sino que está más bien pensada para servir de contenido extra para los fans， para reencontrarte con viejos personajes （en este libro aparecen constantemente el grupo "original"， a los que se les echaba de menos 🥺） y para dar algo de información extra acerca de la historia global， pero de una forma mucho más complementaria。Me parece que ambos libros （los dos que conforman esta trilogía por el momento） os pueden gustar a aquellos a los que realmente les guste la saga （como a mí） o simplemente tengan curiosidad y/o quieran pasar el rato; pero si no os llaman la atención me atrevería a decir que son *casi* completamente prescindibles a nivel global dentro del universo de Cazadores de sombras。 （Aunque a esto he de añadir que no voy del todo al día con la saga así que puedo no estar en lo correcto）。 。。。more

This book was right there with The Bane Chronicles foe me。 It just wasn’t super exciting， and I felt like Jace was dumbed down and the “funny” lines that they said were forced。I also felt a lack in suspense for this book - just overall not my fave， which saddens me because Alec and Magnus are such strong characters so it had the potential to be great - and I loved the Red Scrolls of Magic。The bonus book is great though…

I really enjoyed this book。 It’s not the same as the original series or the various spin off series， in that this is specifically a story about the making of Magnus and Alec， my favourite characters of the series （along with Simon）。 Even more importantly， it’s a story about warlocks and what that means。 I would argue that the writing was not as punchy as I had grown accustomed to with CC， though I imagine that has more to do with having a co-author and meshing styles。 Luckily having Magnus and S I really enjoyed this book。 It’s not the same as the original series or the various spin off series， in that this is specifically a story about the making of Magnus and Alec， my favourite characters of the series （along with Simon）。 Even more importantly， it’s a story about warlocks and what that means。 I would argue that the writing was not as punchy as I had grown accustomed to with CC， though I imagine that has more to do with having a co-author and meshing styles。 Luckily having Magnus and Simon around meant we were undoubtedly going to be delivered line after line of wit and sarcasm。 I could have done without having Clary and Jace involved， though as this series takes place in between the other series’ events， it was nice to have some holes in their story filled in。 I’ll never be sad to see Isabelle and Simon， and it was particularly good to see Simon in action so soon after his ordeals at the Academy。 With a largely built Shadow world at this point， it’s a treat to be able to see something new， so I always appreciate exploring a new Institute， or in this case， a very very old one， and the Shadow Market of Shanghai。 It was great to meet the Ke family and， as is customary with Magnus’ storylines， tie old and new characters together from across his centuries。 This book was able to bounce back and forth between the sweet and emotional highs of Alec and Magnus building their family unit， and the lows， and deeply emotional aspects that come with being a warlock in a Shadowhunter’s world。 The cast of warlocks each gave us a varied glance into what a different story could mean for a warlock， whether it’s Magnus’ collaborative and steadily growing trust and care for Shadowhunters over the centuries， Ragnor’s pessimism and nihilistic view of immortal life， or Shinyun’s deeply damaged view of the world based on her abandonment and the seemingly arbitrary nature of warlocks’ marks and their effect on acceptance。 Even Catarina gives us insight into a deeply compassionate but realistic life as an immortal。 All of this comes together in a deeply touching way， and as a reader it’s impossible not to feel the tragedy that comes with being born a warlock。 I’m also incredibly keen now for book 3， as it promises the story of the greatest Prince of Hell and I can only imagine what that will mean for our ragtag team of heroes！I’m also incredibly keen to see where book 3 takes us， as it’s now finally promised us the story of the greatest Prince of Hell and I can only imagine what that will mean for our ragtag team of heros！A few lines that stuck with me: There were a lot of downsides to being a warlock， but the feeling of embracing a friend who you’d known for more than a century was not one of them。Ragnor came closer。 ‘And do you always let other people tell you what you are？’ Magnus was silent。 ‘Because they will always try，’ said Ragnor。He was heartbroken at how lost she was， filled with compassion for this warlock who had learned too early that the world only pays attention to brute strength， that empathy was weakness。‘So far，’ said Magnus， ‘life seems to me to be a matter of choosing love， over and over， even knowing that it makes you vulnerable， that it might hurt you later。 Or even sooner。 You just have no choice。 You choose to love or you choose to live in an empty world with no one there but you。 And that seems like a truly terrible way to spend eternity。’ 。。。more
